compile c program in linux

How to very easily compile C program in linux.The C program in Linux is written same as it is being written in windows.
In Linux, C program also begins with main
and uses standard C library functions.
The only difference is in the procedure of compilation
and execution.

There are mainly two methods to compile C progam in linux

1.First is Through Netbeans

2.Second is through Vim or vi editor and gcc compiler

Using Netbeans

It can be downloaded from www.netbeans.org. It offers an integrated development environment.
You can create a new C/C++ project in it. Just create Your program and build and execute it using F6

Using Vi-gcc combination

• Vi or Vim is the text editor. You can write your code in this editor.
• #include<stdio.h>
  void main()
  {
  printf("Hello, I am going to be compiled and run successfully\n");
  }
  
• Then just save it eg. hello.c
  . Then save it to any directory say, Desktop.
• Then on the command prompt, write cd  Desktop.

• Now for compiling the c program using gcc compiler, write the command
  gcc hello.c.

• After successful compilation, gcc produces a file named as "a.out".

• This file contains the machine code of our C program which we have to execute.
• Now write the command at the command prompt ./a.out
• Hence the output of our program will be shown on the command prompt
